What You Want to Know About Our Hot Tubs

Why choose a gas-heated hot tub over a wood-fired hot tub or jacuzzi/spa?
  • Set a timer to run the filter mode for about 30min every day.

  • Do regular water tests. Twice a week should suffice.

  • Dose accordingly with Chlorine/Bromine and pH balancers.
  • Jacuzzis or spas generally take between 4-8 hours to heat up. This not only takes up valuable time but also increases electricity costs

  • Wood-fired hot tubs take between 90-120 minutes to heat up. There is no circulation and filtration, meaning the water can’t be treated for reuse and needs to be drained after use

  • Our Ami Pod is ready to use in just 30 minutes
This depends on the season as well as the frequency of use.
  • In winter we suggest draining the water once a month as well as regular filtering and chemical usage.

  •  In summer water should be drained more often as lotions and sweat will contaminate the water.

  • If the water is clear and chemical levels are in balance then you don’t need to drain the water.
  • Cleaning the filter.

  • Emptying out the pump strainer basket.

Make sure the pump is not running. There are two ball valves that you will see when you open up the pump and filter hatch. Make sure both are closed (turned horizontally) while servicing the pump or filter. Turn it back open before switching the pump back on.

Yes, the pump has a 0.25 kilowatt motor.

  • We will do an above-ground installation of up to 15m. This is the distance of the above-ground plumbing between the Ami Pod and the gas heater.

  • Gas installation compliance certificate.
  • Decking will need to be reinforced. We suggest that you consult with a structural engineer. We work closely with John Smith  for all structural engineering
  • We do advise that you obtain plans. We can assist with the process.
    • Heating from 18°C to 37°C (or your desired temperature) should give you at least 5 sessions lasting 4-5 hours each.
  •  Is the pump running? If not there could be an interruption to your electrical supply.

  • If the pump is running, is the gas heater coming on? If not the gas bottle should be checked as it might be turned off or low on gas.
